Effective communication is crucial in all life domains, requiring verbal and nonverbal strategies known as Communication Strategies (CSs). This study investigated the communication strategies employed by EFL learners in classrooms to enhance their communication skills and strategic proficiency. Data were collected through questionnaires (20 students, 2 teachers) and classroom observations. Findings indicated that repetition and paraphrasing were the most commonly used strategies, while literal translation and nonverbal strategies were less common. Moreover, paraphrasing, repetition, and word replacement were found to be more effective. A correlation was observed between the number of years learning English and strategy use, especially paraphrasing (r = .44, p = .05), suggesting that experience influences strategic choices.
