About the Journal

Faculty of Arts Journal – Misurata University

The Faculty of Arts JournalMisurata University is a peer-reviewed academic journal published biannually, dedicated to disseminating original and unpublished research in the fields of humanities, social sciences, and linguistics. The journal adheres to rigorous academic and ethical standards throughout its editorial and review processes.

The journal adopts an open-access policy, and all articles published starting from Issue 19 (January 2025) are released under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0), which permits use, sharing, redistribution, adaptation, and reproduction in any medium or format for any purpose, provided that appropriate credit is given to the author(s) and the original source.

Authors retain full copyright over their published works, while granting the journal the right of first, non-exclusive publication.

The journal does not impose any fees on authors for submission, review, or publication. All publication costs are covered by Misurata University, in support of open access and to encourage scientific research. The journal also assigns a permanent Digital Object Identifier (DOI) to each published article and ensures long-term archiving of content through Portico. It is also indexed in Google Scholar, helping to enhance the visibility of research and serve the academic community.

 The Faculty of Arts Journal accepts submissions in :Arabic, English, French, and Italian in four main sections

Psychological and Social Sciences

This section focuses on studies exploring the human being in psychological and social dimensions, including:

  • Theoretical and applied psychology
  • Individual and community mental health
  • Social and behavioral interactions
    Both quantitative and qualitative research that contributes to scientific knowledge is welcome.

Linguistic and Literary Studies

This section includes research on:

  • Arabic, English, French, and Italian languages and literatures
  • Linguistic analysis, literary criticism, comparative literature, translation
  • Theoretical and applied linguistics
    Interdisciplinary and innovative approaches to language and culture are encouraged.

Geographic, Historical, and Heritage Studies

This section explores humanity through time and space, covering:

  • Historical analysis and geography
  • Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
  • Tourism, archaeology, and heritage
    Descriptive, analytical, and technological studies that deepen our understanding of civilizations and environments are welcomed.

Philosophy, Education, and Information Sciences

This section addresses topics in:

  • Theoretical and practical philosophy
  • Education, learning policies, and knowledge systems
  • Library science, information management, educational technologies
    It supports research combining reflective thought with practical application in building knowledge-based societies.
