About the Journal

The Faculty of Arts Journal - Misurata University is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by the Faculty of Arts at Misurata University, Libya, with two issues per year. The journal aims to publish original academic research in the fields of humanities, social sciences, and linguistics, and welcomes contributions from researchers in academic institutions both within Libya and abroad.

The journal follows an open access policy, where all published articles are freely available to read and download without any fees. All articles published starting from Issue 19 (January 2025) are released under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), which permits reuse, redistribution, and modification for any purpose, provided that the original author and source are credited, and any changes are indicated.

The journal does not charge authors any fees for submission, review, or publication of their manuscripts. All publication costs are fully covered by Misurata University, in support of the open access model and to encourage scientific research.

Authors retain full copyright of their work upon publication. They are required to disclose any financial or institutional support received for their research, as well as to declare any potential conflicts of interest that may affect the objectivity or findings of the study. The journal also adheres to a strict privacy policy to ensure the confidentiality of personal data of authors, reviewers, and readers, and to prevent its use outside the context of scientific publishing.

The Faculty of Arts Journal - Misurata University is committed to ensuring the long-term digital preservation of all its issues and scholarly articles through its participation in Portico, one of the world’s leading digital preservation services. This affiliation guarantees the continued accessibility of the journal’s content even in the event of website failure or discontinuation of publication.

The journal also permits authors to deposit the final published version of their articles in institutional or subject repositories, as well as on personal academic webpages, provided that full publication details and the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license are clearly indicated.

In addition, all articles are indexed in Google Scholar and assigned a permanent Digital Object Identifier (DOI) through Crossref, ensuring their persistent availability and citability. Full details are available in the Archiving Policy
