Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • I confirm that I have read and agree to comply with all journal policies published on the journal website, including the Publication Policies, Publication Ethics, Authorship and Author Contributions Policy, Privacy Statement, and Policy on the Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Tools in Scientific Research.
  • I confirm that this manuscript is original, has not been published previously, and is not under consideration by another journal or publisher, unless this has been disclosed to the Editorial Office at the time of submission.
  • The manuscript has been prepared and uploaded in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format using the journal's official template.
  • The manuscript complies with the journal's Author Guidelines and all applicable formatting and submission requirements.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy, and DOI identifiers or URLs have been provided wherever available.
  • I confirm that Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools were not used to generate research data, results, or analyses, nor to produce the substantive scientific content of the manuscript. Where AI tools have been used in a limited and permitted manner, their use has been properly disclosed in accordance with the journal's AI Policy, and I accept full responsibility for the entire content of the manuscript.
  • I confirm that all listed authors satisfy the journal's authorship criteria, that the order of authors has been approved by all contributors, that all authors have approved the submitted version of the manuscript, and that no eligible contributor has been omitted.
  • I undertake to disclose all sources of funding and any actual or potential conflicts of interest in accordance with the journal's policies.
  • I agree that the Editorial Office may make editorial, linguistic, and formatting amendments, where necessary, to ensure consistency with the journal's publishing standards, provided that such changes do not alter the scientific content, results, or conclusions of the manuscript. The corresponding author will be informed whenever the nature of the amendments requires consultation.
  • I undertake to cooperate with the Editorial Office throughout the editorial and peer-review process and to submit revised manuscripts or any requested documents within the specified timeframes.

Author Guidelines

Introduction

The Journal of the Faculty of Arts – University of Misurata welcomes the submission of original, high-quality scholarly work that falls within the journal's aims and scope.

Submitted manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere. Authors are encouraged to read these guidelines carefully and prepare their manuscripts in accordance with the journal's requirements before submission.

Submission Policy

All manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the journal's Open Journal Systems (OJS).

Before submitting a manuscript, authors should ensure that:

  • The manuscript complies with these Author Guidelines.
  • The manuscript has been prepared using the journal's official template.
  • All required submission files have been prepared.
  • The submission satisfies the journal's Submission Checklist.
  • All required metadata have been entered correctly during the submission process.

Submissions sent by email or by any means other than the OJS platform will not be considered unless specifically requested by the Editorial Office.

General Requirements

Authors are responsible for ensuring that their submissions:

  • Fall within the journal's aims and scope.
  • Present original scholarly work.
  • Are written in clear and academically appropriate language.
  • Have not been published previously or submitted simultaneously to another publication.
  • Follow the journal's formatting and referencing requirements.
  • Include accurate author information and complete bibliographic references.

Compliance with these requirements facilitates the editorial assessment and peer review process.

Preparing the Manuscript

Authors should prepare their manuscripts using the journal's official template before submission.

The template contains the journal's formatting requirements, including page layout, fonts, headings, citation style, tables, figures, and other formatting instructions.

Authors should also ensure that:

  • All figures and tables are clearly presented and appropriately numbered.
  • References are complete, accurate, and consistently formatted.
  • Supplementary files, where applicable, are prepared separately.
  • Files are uploaded in the formats accepted by the journal.

 

Citation and Referencing Style

Authors must prepare citations and references using the APA (7th edition) style. All in-text citations and reference entries should be accurate, complete, and consistent with the journal's official template.

Manuscript Structure

Unless otherwise specified for a particular article type, manuscripts should include the following components:

  • Title of the manuscript.
  • Author information, including institutional affiliation, ORCID iD (where available), and the corresponding author's contact information.
  • Abstract in the language of the manuscript.
  • Keywords in the language of the manuscript.
  • Main text of the manuscript.
  • Acknowledgements (if applicable).
  • Funding Statement (if applicable).
  • Conflict of Interest Statement.
  • AI Use Statement, where applicable, in accordance with the journal's AI Policy.
  • References.
  • Appendices and supplementary materials (if applicable).

Manuscripts must also include a translated title, abstract, keywords, and author information in accordance with the journal's official template:

  • Manuscripts written in Arabic must include an English title, abstract, keywords, and author information, including institutional affiliation, ORCID iD (where available), and the corresponding author's contact information.
  • Manuscripts written in English, French, or Italian must include an Arabic title, abstract, keywords, and author information, including institutional affiliation, ORCID iD (where available), and the corresponding author's contact information.

The official template specifies the required format and placement of all manuscript components, including the translated title, abstract, keywords, and author information.

Before You Submit

Before completing your submission, please confirm that:

  • The manuscript has been prepared using the journal's official template.
  • All required manuscript components are included.
  • The Submission Checklist has been completed.
  • All required files have been uploaded.
  • Metadata entered into OJS are accurate and complete.
  • References have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure that all in-text citations and references conform to the journal's required citation style (APA 7th edition).

Careful preparation before submission helps avoid unnecessary delays during editorial assessment.

The section values work that bridges reflective inquiry and practical application in building knowledge-driven societies.

The names and email addresses entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party.
