The concept of dialogism/from stimulating the dynamics of creativity to undermining the monolithic reading

Abstract

Writing is a fabric of signs constructed within the larger textual corpus, embracing the principle of multilingualism, expressing the social environment and ideological principles. This activity, guided by verbal and discursive interaction, can be summarized within the concept of dialogism. Accordingly, this study aims to delve into a set of issues related to this concept, drawing on the theoretical efforts of some Western critics to expound on the term dialogism—in the field of novel theory—a term that has carried multiple connotations and been developed by many in different contexts. However, we will focus on Bakhtin's dialogism, which has occupied a large space in Western critical thought and had a significant impact on the intellectual frameworks and philosophical perspectives of many critical approaches and perspectives. From this, a complete critical movement has evolved, known today as "intertextuality theory," or "intertextuality," pioneered by Julia Kristeva and found its precise theoretical and practical crystallization in the writings of Todorov.
