The study aimed to assess the level of satisfaction among students of the Faculty of Arts at Misurata University regarding academic supervision. To achieve this objective, a questionnaire was prepared and distributed to a sample of 73 male and female students, selected from the total population of 295 students in the advanced semesters during the academic year 2016–2017. This sample represents approximately 25% of the total population, with 22 male and 51 female participants.
To answer the research questions, a one-sample t-test was used to determine the general level of student satisfaction. An independent samples t-test was also conducted to identify any statistically significant differences in satisfaction based on gender. Additionally, the Spearman correlation coefficient was used to examine the relationship between students’ satisfaction with academic supervision and their academic achievement (GPA).
The findings of the study indicated a high level of satisfaction among female students and a moderate level among male students. The results also revealed statistically significant differences in satisfaction levels based on gender, in favor of female students. Moreover, significant differences were found among students from different academic departments, with students from the Department of Education reporting higher levels of satisfaction compared to other departments.
