Abstract

Geographical thought witnessed significant advancement through the contributions of Muslim scholars, particularly during the Abbasid era. These scholars preserved, corrected, and expanded upon earlier geographical knowledge, studying both physical and human phenomena, and played a vital role in shaping modern geography. This research seeks to explore the nature and impact of Arab and Muslim geographers’ contributions, aiming to highlight the Islamic civilization’s influence on global scientific progress and to stimulate interest in the study of Islamic geographical heritage.
