This study explores the socio-cultural transformations that have affected the Libyan family amidst growing modernization indicators such as education, women's increased economic participation, media exposure, and urbanization. These changes have led to structural and functional shifts, notably the transition from extended to nuclear family systems, a redistribution of authority within the family, and a shift in role allocation from traditional gender- or age-based divisions to roles based on education and economic contribution. The research also highlights emerging challenges facing the family, including weakened familial bonds, low income levels, women's participation in the workforce, and the inability of families to meet their responsibilities, which collectively contribute to familial instability and disintegration.
