This study seeks to examine the origins of pragmatist philosophy through the contributions of its founder, Charles Sanders Peirce (1839–1914), one of the most influential American philosophers in the fields of logic and analytic thought. The research analyzes Peirce’s philosophical vision, his scientific and logical background, and the foundational principles upon which his pragmatic philosophy was built.
The study is structured around key themes, including: the scope and context of pragmatism in modern philosophy, Peirce’s intellectual background, a presentation of the core principles of pragmatism as defined by him, a discussion of selected philosophical statements made by Peirce, and an exploration of the distinctive features of his thought. The research also offers critical observations, concluding with a summary of the main findings and a comprehensive list of scholarly references.
