Abstract
This study aims to analyze the impact of returning to original housing on restoring family stability and the transformation of social relationships among families affected by Storm Daniel in the city of Derna after displacement. The study adopts a qualitative approach, with data collected through semi-structured interviews conducted with a sample of twelve household heads who had returned to their homes. Participants were selected using the snowball sampling technique. The data were then analyzed using thematic analysis.
The findings indicate that returning to original housing contributed to enhancing family stability and rebuilding social ties, despite the persistence of certain challenges related to housing conditions. Additionally, social and institutional support played a significant role in assisting families and promoting social recovery in the aftermath of the disaster
