This study explores the term "poetic necessity" as one of the most debated issues among Arabic grammarians, both theoretically and practically. It seeks to answer key questions: What does poetic necessity mean? Why do grammarians differ in their interpretation of it? And is it possible to reach a balanced stance that satisfies various perspectives? The study begins with a brief overview of scholarly contributions to the topic, reflecting the early recognition of its significance in linguistic and grammatical discourse. Through an analytical and conceptual approach, the research aims to establish a clear and methodical position on poetic necessity within the Arabic linguistic tradition.
