Author Rights and Responsibilities

First: Author Rights

Authors retain the rights granted by the (CC BY 4.0) license, along with the following guarantees:

  1. Authors have full freedom to choose their research topics, provided they align with the journal’s scope.
  2. Authors may publish their findings without harming national interests or defaming others.
  3. Authors are entitled to fair peer review by qualified reviewers in the same field. Feedback is provided in writing using standard forms and made available to the authors.
  4. Evaluation results are confidential. The editorial board is committed to maintaining this confidentiality.
  5. Authors have the right to withdraw their manuscript before peer review begins.
  6. Final Content Review Right: Authors may review changes that affect the core of their paper (objectives, findings, interpretations) prior to publication.
  7. Authors have the right to proper attribution and to object to any distortion or modification that harms their work or reputation. They also have the right to withdraw their work if such violations occur.
  8. If a submission is rejected prior to peer review due to duplicate submission or plagiarism, authors have the right to respond within ten days of notification. Failure to respond is considered acceptance of the editorial decision.
  9. Authors may deposit their work in open repositories, citing its original publication in the Journal of the Faculty of Arts, University of Misurata.
  10. Authors are granted 3 printed copies of the issue in which their paper is published (in case of print publication), or a PDF offprint with an official letter confirming publication (in case of electronic publication).

Second: Author Responsibilities

  1. Authors must submit original work free of copyright infringement, according to the journal’s submission guidelines. They bear full legal responsibility for any copyright-related issues.
  2. Authors must commit to publication ethics. Fraud or plagiarism, before or after publication, is considered a scientific crime. The journal may reject or retract the paper, ban future submissions, and report the misconduct to relevant academic bodies.
  3. The research must not be previously published, submitted elsewhere, or extracted from a thesis without proper declaration. A written declaration must be submitted.
  4. Authors must be familiar with the journal's requirements and adhere to them.
  5. Research must be scientifically accurate, free from linguistic or spelling errors, and thoroughly proofread.
  6. Compliance with the journal’s formatting and submission rules is mandatory.
  7. If authors fail to implement major reviewer-recommended changes, their submission may be rejected. Revisions are considered opportunities to improve the manuscript.
  8. Authors must properly cite all references to acknowledge the intellectual work of others.
  9. When depositing the paper in repositories like ResearchGate or arXiv, the following statement must be included: "This research was originally published in the Journal of the Faculty of Arts – University of Misurata under a Creative Commons (CC BY 4.0) license."
  10. If authors modify their published work, they must: publish derivatives under the same CC BY 4.0 license, avoid additional legal or technical restrictions, and clearly indicate any changes made to the original work.
